Copyright is what protects artists work from getting stolen. It is a law that gives the rights of the art to the artist. In photography whoever took the picture owns the copyright.

 

 A watermark can help prevent people from taking your work. My watermark is just my signed initials LM. I used the paintbrush tool to sign. I like the way it turned out because it kind of looks like a design and you have to look a little harder at it to see my initials.

 

I do not think I will be using my watermark on many of my pictures just because I don't like the way it looks and I think my pictures look better without it.
